I went to an address in Harlem. The stairs to the building were destroyed so I went to the next building and swung myself over to the doorway of the building with no stairs, not easy because I had two Nikons and a Hasselblad hanging around my neck. Inside it was dark. I climbed the stairs to the second floor, walked into a room with an open space where a window used to be. I looked down and saw two men talking. I heard a noise behind me, turned and looked into the darkness. A man walked toward me then I could see about ten others sitting in the back. The man said "You shouldn't walk around with cameras like that." I told him I was looking for Vargas. I was told that he was down in back. I eventually brought Vargas to the roof. He was the director of the street theater called The Gut Theater B&W photograph printed from original negative unframed printed on 11" x 14" paper image size: 9" x 10" signed by the artist price: $1000 |
