I photographed Sylvia Miles in her apartment on Columbus Circle in New York City. The New York Times sent Chris Chase and me to the 19th floor. The title of the piece was "Who Is Sylvia? I'm a Big Star" Sylvia was a star in Andy Warhol's Heat and a judge in the New York Erotic Film Festival. "I'm all for pornography if people look good enough," said Sylvia. She was nominated for the Academy Award for Midnight Cowboy. Chase and Sylvia were not getting along. When I arrived, Sylvia and I hit it off and she relaxed. She referred to her apartment as a wardrobe trunk with a view. B&W photograph printed from original negative unframed printed on 11" x 14" paper image size: 9" x 10" signed by the artist price: $1000 |
